Why is outdoor furniture important?
Your outdoor space is an extension of your home, and it should be treated as such. Just like you would invest time and effort into decorating your living room or bedroom, your outdoor space deserves the same attention. Outdoor furniture not only adds functionality to your space, but it also enhances the overall aesthetic and creates a welcoming atmosphere.
Upgrade your outdoor furniture.
If you're still using the same old plastic chairs and worn-out table, it's time for an upgrade. There are so many options available that can transform your outdoor space into a luxurious retreat. From cosy lounge chairs to elegant dining sets, you can find furniture that suits your style and budget.
Choose durable and weather-resistant materials.
When selecting outdoor furniture, it's important to choose materials that can withstand the elements. Look for furniture made from durable materials such as teak, aluminum, or synthetic wicker. These materials are not only resistant to rain, sun, and wind, but they also require minimal maintenance.
Create a comfortable and inviting space.
Comfort should be a top priority when it comes to outdoor furniture. Look for pieces that have plush cushions and ergonomic designs. Whether you're lounging by the pool or hosting a barbecue, you want your guests to feel relaxed and at ease.
Add a touch of style.
Outdoor furniture is not just about functionality; it's also an opportunity to showcase your personal style. Choose furniture that complements the overall aesthetic of your home and reflects your taste. Whether you prefer a modern, minimalist look or a cozy, bohemian vibe, there are endless options to choose from.
Accessorize and personalise.
Once you have your outdoor furniture sorted, it's time to add the finishing touches. Accessories such as outdoor rugs, throw pillows, and lanterns can instantly elevate the look of your space. Don't be afraid to add personal touches such as potted plants or artwork to make it feel like your own little oasis.
So, are you ready for summer? Don't let your outdoor space go to waste. Upgrade your outdoor furniture and create a space that you can enjoy all season long. With the right furniture and a little bit of creativity, you can transform your outdoor space into a haven of relaxation and style. Check out our Outdoor Collection today!

]]>Is Rattan Still Trendy? A Deep Dive into the Popularity of Rattan Furniture
Rattan furniture has been a staple in homes and outdoor spaces for decades. Its timeless appeal, coupled with its durability and versatility, has made it a favourite among homeowners and interior designers alike. But is rattan still trendy? Let's delve into the world of rattan furniture and see if it's still as popular as ever.
The Enduring Appeal of Rattan Furniture
Rattan, a naturally occurring vine-like species found in tropical regions, is known for its strength and flexibility. These qualities make it an ideal material for crafting furniture. The unique aesthetic appeal of rattan furniture lies in its natural, earthy look that effortlessly blends with any decor style.
One reason why rattan furniture continues to be trendy is because of its versatility. Whether you're going for a boho-chic vibe, a minimalist modern look, or a classic traditional style, there's always a piece of rattan furniture that can fit right in.
Moreover, rattan furniture is not just about aesthetics; it's also about sustainability. As more people become conscious about their environmental footprint, the demand for eco-friendly materials like rattan has significantly increased.
The Resurgence of Rattan Furniture
In recent years, we've seen a resurgence in the popularity of rattan furniture. This can be attributed to the rise of trends like "Japandi" (a blend of Japanese and Scandinavian design philosophies) and "Cottagecore" (a trend that romanticises rural living). Both these trends emphasise natural materials and simplicity – characteristics inherent to rattan furniture.
Another factor contributing to this resurgence is the growing interest in outdoor living spaces. As more people seek to create comfortable outdoor areas where they can relax or entertain guests, they turn to durable yet stylish options like rattan patio sets or garden loungers.
Rattan Furniture: A Trend That’s Here to Stay?
Given its enduring appeal and recent resurgence, one might ask: Is the trendiness of rattan furniture fleeting or here to stay? Based on current design trends and consumer preferences, it seems that the popularity of rattan isn't going anywhere soon.
The shift towards sustainable living has made consumers more conscious about their choices – including their choice of furniture. As such, eco-friendly options like rattan are expected to remain popular.
Moreover, as people continue to explore different design styles that emphasize natural materials – from boho-chic to Japandi – we can expect rattan pieces to remain fixtures in homes around the world.
Embrace the Timeless Charm of Rattan Furniture
So is rattan still trendy? The answer is a resounding yes! With its timeless charm coupled with its sustainability credentials, it's no surprise that more homeowners are choosing this versatile material for their homes.
Whether you're looking for an accent chair for your living room or an entire patio set for your outdoor space, there's no shortage of stylish options when it comes to rattan furniture. So why not embrace this trend and bring some natural charm into your home today?
Remember though - while trends come and go - what matters most is creating a space that feels uniquely yours. And if that includes some beautiful pieces of rattan furniture - then you're certainly on-trend!
So this leads me to the fun and games of placing our large floor rug with my husband. I must also add here, that we have super heavy lounges, so moving them was no easy feat. That being said we moved them maybe 4 times on and off the rug as my husband refused to listen to me (he always forgets I have an interior design certificate) about the best way to place a floor rug. Hence, this experience inspired this blog!
For anyone that is placing a floor rug, I would highly recommend reading the below and if placing the floor rug with a partner, getting them to read this too!
Styling a floor rug can greatly enhance the overall aesthetics of a space. Here are some tips to help you style a floor rug effectively:
1. Consider the room's purpose and existing decor: The rug should complement the room's overall style and function. Take into account the color scheme, furniture, and the mood you want to create.
2. Choose the right size: Ensure that the rug is appropriately sized for the room. A rug that is too small can make the space feel disjointed, while an oversized rug can overwhelm the room. Ideally, the rug should be large enough to anchor the furniture within the space.
3. Create a focal point: Position the rug to create a focal point within the room. This could be under a coffee table in the living room or under the dining table in the dining area. By anchoring furniture around the rug, you create a cohesive and inviting space.
4. Consider rug placement: Depending on the room and furniture layout, you have different options for rug placement. In a living room, you can choose to have all furniture legs on the rug or just the front legs. In a dining area, ensure that the rug is large enough to accommodate the dining table and chairs comfortably.
5. Mix patterns and textures thoughtfully: If you're incorporating patterned rugs, ensure they complement the overall design scheme. If your furniture or other elements in the room have bold patterns, opt for a rug with a simpler design. On the other hand, if you have neutral furniture, you can choose a rug with a bolder pattern to create visual interest.
6. Mindful colour choices: Consider the colour palette of the room when selecting a rug. You can choose a rug that complements the existing colour scheme or opt for a contrasting colour to make it a focal point. Neutral rugs can provide versatility and make it easier to change the room's overall look in the future.
7. Take care of maintenance: Keep in mind the practical aspects of rug maintenance. Consider the material and pile height of the rug, especially if it will be placed in high-traffic areas. Ensure that the rug is easy to clean and maintain to preserve its appearance.
Remember, these are general guidelines, and ultimately, your personal style and preferences should guide your choices when styling a floor rug.... and don't listen to your partner if they haven't read these! For some inspiration check out our floor rug collection which includes rugs from Tribe Home, The Rug Collection and Weave.
]]>1. Choose a Colour Scheme:
A professional-looking bedroom usually has a cohesive and well-planned out colour scheme. Consider choosing a colour palette that is soothing and relaxing, such as different shades of blue, green, whites or grey. These colours are super popular for coastal styles, if you prefer a modern farmhouse look then warm colours like browns, mustards and creams are a go to. Whatever your colour combination, stick to it and bring elements of the colours out through every part of your styling.
2. Invest in Quality Bedding:
High-quality bedding is a must if you want to achieve a polished and professional look. Look for bedding that is soft and comfortable, while also being stylish. Our go to is linen, it is soft and perfect all year round as it breathes well in summer, but is super cosy in the winter as linen is that little bit heavier. When it comes to bedding we also actually believe investing in a quality bed that will last the test of time is a must. One that is constructed well and provides a style that is classic and timeless. If you prefer an ensemble, then finding a unique bedhead is also a great investment and can change your room from Heh to Wow!
3. Add Texture and Layers:
This is the fun part! To create a cosy and inviting atmosphere, consider adding some texture and layers to your bedding and decor. This can include throw pillows, blankets, and curtains. I am a bit of a cushion freak and change my throw cushions often! There are so many amazing cushion designs but if you want to stand out with your styling, look for boutique brands. They usually have designs that are limited editions and provide a real unique piece for your bedroom. This is also true about throws! Colours and designs if purchased from a boutique brand means your bedroom won't look like everyone elses. We love Pony Rider, Lazybones Saarde just for this reason.
4. Keep it Clutter-Free:
A cluttered bedroom can quickly make it look unprofessional and unkempt. Make sure to keep surfaces clean and tidy, and invest in storage solutions to keep items organised and out of sight. This is easier said than done when you have kids running around, pets jumping on beds and family members that just don't clean up after themselves. But, the simple step of removing clutter should help and make your room feel more of a sanctuary than a family room!
5. Focus on Lighting:
Good lighting is essential in creating a professional-looking bedroom. Consider investing in a combination of ambient, task, and accent lighting to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Pendants that drop from the ceiling are popular and look dramatic, but a simple side lamp can also bring warmth to a room. Wall lamps have also become a very popular addition to interior styled bedrooms.
Whatever your style, you can get a professional looking bedroom if you follow the top 5 tips above. Why not check out our bedroom furniture collection or bedroom homewares collection to get your started on your new styling project. Enjoy!
]]>Pony Rider like to describe themselves as lovers of the rugged outdoors, roaming ranges, vintage patterns and all things earthly and that is exactly what each collection brings. Hence fitting nicely into our Farmhouse and Coastal collections! I must admit my house is covered in Pony Rider as I was a fan favourite even before I became the owner of Cranmore Home & Co!
Founded in 2009, Pony Rider has become a leader in the homewares and lifestyle industry, offering a wide range of products from cushions to accessories to throws. They were originally known for their bespoke cushions but are now also designing and producing gorgeous bedding, canvas accesories and super popular wall art.
I have also seen Pony Rider cushions popping up more and more in the interior magazines and most recently they were scattered throughout Mick Fannings (legend surfers) holiday home! Which resonated with me, that the other reason we love Pony Rider, is because their pieces appeal to everyone. The earthy colours and tones and materials used, work in spaces for everyone. I know my son loves his Aztec throw and hubby loves our Highlander cushions in Olive and Navy because of the textural feel and its not linen (quote his words "not linen") as I went through a linen only phase! The adventurous and earthy design elements definitely translates to mass appeal but as they are only providing a limited edition of pieces per season, if you are lucky enough to secure a Pony Rider piece you feel special and your home is happy too!
At Pony Rider, they also take pride in their commitment to quality and sustainability. All of Pony Rider products are designed in Australia and manufactured ethically using natural materials sourced from around the world. They work closely with their suppliers to ensure that all materials meet their high standards for quality and sustainability. They use natural fibers for their textiles and recycled metals and canvas for accessories. Once they have sourced the best materials, they then work with artisans in India to craft each product by hand. This ensures that each piece is unique and of the highest quality.
At Pony Rider, they also believe that quality should never be compromised when it comes to crafting beautiful homewares and lifestyle products. That’s why all of their products are designed in Australia by experienced designers who understand how to create timeless pieces that will stand the test of time.
If you haven't had a piece from Pony Rider before, I highly suggest purchasing a few pieces as they will last the test of time and will always be unique, not everyone can get an original Pony Rider cushion from their limited editions collections, especially if I keep buying them ... eek!

2. Think about functionality
When selecting cushions and throws, it’s important to think about how they will be used in your home. Are they purely decorative or do you want them to provide extra comfort? If you’re looking for something that is both stylish and functional, choose cushions with removable covers so that they can easily be washed when needed. If when looking at throws do you want extra weight like linen to keep you warm or a lighter material like cotton to just add colour and texture to the rooms.

3. Choose the Right Fabrics
The type of fabric you choose can make a big difference in how comfortable your cushions and throws are. Natural fabrics like cotton, linen, wool, and silk are all great choices as they are soft, breathable, and durable. Synthetic fabrics like polyester or acrylic may be cheaper but they won’t last as long or feel as comfortable against the skin.
4. Mix & Match Colours & Patterns
Solid colors are great for creating a calming atmosphere but if you want something more eye-catching try mixing different patterns together. You could go for two different prints in complementary colors or opt for one patterned cushion with several plain ones in coordinating shades. This will add texture and interest to any room without being too overwhelming.
5. Finally Consider Your Budget
Finally, don’t forget about budget when selecting cushions and throws for your home. We have a selection with all different prices ranges so make sure you check out our cushion and bedding collections today.
By following these tips, you should have no trouble finding the perfect cushions and throws for your home!

Once they receive their pieces from their production facility they then ensure each piece is inspected and any final touches like painting or sanding are made to ensure quality and timeless gorgeousness every single time! Four poster beds have been around for centuries, and they remain a popular choice today. But what is the point of a four poster bed? History of Four Poster Beds
Four poster beds have been around since the Middle Ages, when they were used by royalty as a symbol of power and wealth. Fun fact - The earliest known four poster bed was made in 1590 for Queen Elizabeth I ! The four posts were often carved with intricate designs, and curtains were hung from them to provide privacy. Over time, four poster beds became more accessible to the general public, and today they are available in a variety of styles and materials.
Functionality of Four Poster Beds
Four poster beds offer more than just aesthetic appeal; they are also highly functional pieces of furniture. The posts can be used to hang curtains or mosquito nets for added privacy or protection from insects. They can also add a touch of elegance to any bedroom. The posts give the bed an airy feel that can make your bedroom look larger than it actually is. Additionally, four poster beds can provide a sense of privacy as well as security due to their height off the ground. This makes them ideal for bedrooms with high ceilings or windows that overlook busy streets or public areas.
Decorative Appeal of Four Poster Beds
Four poster beds are also popular because of their decorative appeal. They can be dressed up with curtains or fabric panels for a luxurious look, or left bare for a more modern aesthetic. Additionally, many four poster beds feature intricate carvings on the posts that add an extra touch of sophistication to any bedroom.
We have seen our four poster beds go to homes that are wanting Coastal or Modern Farmhouse style furniture. The Strand Four Poster Bed by Uniqwa (pictured below) comes in Natural, White, Black or Walnut and in both queen and king sizes. The white and walnut are new to the collection due to the popularity of the other two colours.

Coastal style is a popular interior design trend that has been gaining in popularity for many years and will stay with us for many more. It combines the relaxed, laid-back feel of beach living with the sophistication of modern design. This style is perfect for creating a calming and inviting atmosphere in any home. Whether you’re looking to create a beach-inspired retreat or just want to add some coastal flair to your existing decor, here are our top 10 coastal style design tips and tricks.
What is Coastal Style?
Coastal style is all about creating an atmosphere of relaxation and comfort. It combines elements of beach living with modern design elements to create a unique look that can be both sophisticated and casual at the same time. Coastal style typically includes light colors, natural materials, and nautical accents such as shells, driftwood, rope and rattan. The overall look should be airy and inviting, with plenty of natural light and comfortable furniture pieces.
How to Incorporate Coastal Style into Your Home
The key to incorporating coastal style into your home is to focus on creating an atmosphere of relaxation and comfort. Start by using light colors such as whites, blues, greens, and grays throughout your space. Natural materials like wood, wicker, jute, rattan, linen, and cotton are also essential for achieving this look. Additionally, adding nautical accents like shells or driftwood can help bring the beach vibe into your home without being too over-the-top.
Tips for Choosing Furniture
When it comes to choosing furniture for a coastal style space, it’s important to choose pieces that are comfortable yet stylish. Look for furniture made from natural materials such as wood or wicker that will give your space an airy feel. Additionally, opt for pieces with clean lines that won’t overwhelm the room but will still provide plenty of seating options for guests. Our coastal collection provides a great selection of pieces from Uniqwa Furniture and our own collection that has some stunning coastal pieces.
Tips for Accessorising Your Space
Area rugs are a great way to add texture and color to any room while still maintaining the relaxed vibe of coastal style decorating. Choose rugs made from natural fibers like jute or sisal in neutral colors like white or gray that will complement your existing furniture pieces without overpowering them. Additionally, adding throw pillows in shades of blue or green can help bring out the colors in your area rug while also providing extra comfort when lounging on the couch or bedding down at night. Finally, don’t forget about wall art! Hang up framed prints featuring beach scenes or ocean life to complete the look of your coastal-inspired space. Check out our Pony Rider cushion covers for some unique coastal inspirational patterns or our Walter G Collection if you love block print designs just like I do!
Tips for Adding Nautical Accents
Nautical accents are essential when it comes to achieving a true coastal style look in your home. Look for items like shells or driftwood that you can display on shelves or coffee tables as decorative accents throughout your space. You can also hang up framed prints featuring boats or lighthouses on walls throughout your home as well as hang up rope lights around windowsills or doorways for an extra touch of nautical charm!
Tips For Creating an Outdoor Space
Creating an outdoor space with coastal vibes doesn’t have to be difficult! Start by adding comfortable seating such as Adirondack chairs around a fire pit so you can enjoy evenings outdoors with friends and family during warmer months. Then add some potted plants around the perimeter of your patio area so you can enjoy some greenery while still keeping things feeling light and airy! Finally don’t forget about lighting – string lights hung up around trees or along fences will help create a cozy atmosphere after dark! We have our string lights up all year round and add such a cosy entertaining element to our outdoor area.
Conclusion

I hope this has provided some inspiration for your coastal-inspired space!
]]>Ever since I was little, my eye has always been drawn to patterns, colourful, geometric you name it I love patterns. I also always tended to buy homewares and artwork that consisted of block printed materials, even before I actually understood how this was designed or made. I just had a love for the patterns and I think to be honest loved the idea of going to markets in India or Morrocco and sourcing my own fabric to make a homewares store full of my own designs and products. The only problem was 1. I am not creative enough artistically (this gene went to my mum and sister) 2. I love travel but this is something I would have loved to have done with someone else 3. My life went in a completely different direction and 4. Back to number 1 really, I am not creative at all!
Here is evidence that my creative skills are similar to a primary school aged child. At the time I thought these were cool!
So when I read about Walter G Australia and best friends Lauren and Genevieve many years ago, I went into complete online stalker mode! Not in a creepy way, but an "in awe" way. I looked them up online, read articles on Walter G and the process on how they make their gorgeous homewares with Indian makers - Walter G and the partnership was the perfect business and product that I would loved to have created. I have been a customer of theirs for many years and when I took over Cranmore Home & Co I just had to look at stocking them. I said stocking, not stalking! Unfortunately due to COVID I delayed any new suppliers for a while and then finally earlier this year in Melbourne I was able to go the the Life In Style exhibition (first time in 3 years) and just like a sign from the above, there was Walter G and Lauren and Genevieve hosting the stand. Ok, so if you ask my sister who was with me at the time, I did go into a bit of fan girl mode and over talked and over shared how much I loved their homewares and I am sure they both were wondering who the crazy lady from Perth was when I left, but what it did do, was spark joy again for wanting to stock their gorgeous cushions. And well, now we do. Just a small selection to start to see if our customers love them as much as we do!
So a little bit about Walter G.
Firstly, Walter G is an Australian-owned boutique textile house founded in 2012 by best friends - Lauren Emerson and Genevieve Hewson. They have both spent time in India, in remote villages, completely immersed, learning everything they could about the block printing process and travel back regularly to stay up to date with and new hand block printing techniques.
All Walter G fabrics are designed in-house, taking inspiration from old textiles and new surroundings. These designs are subsequently brought to life by a wonderful team of artisans in India.
The relaxed coastal vibe of the gorgeous patterns sit perfectly in the Cranmore Home & Co cushion collection and the fresh colours and textures are designed to be mixed and matched together.
If you are as big a fan as me on the gorgeous block print designs you should definitely check out the small Walter G Collection that we have. I do hope everyone loves them as much as we do as I am hoping to stock many more designs in the future.
Check out our Walter G collection here.
Enjoy

So, instead of thinking of their gift collection I am going to focus in on our Christmas Gift Collection. We have put together a lovely collection of items under $150 that range from gorgeous Karina Jambrak prints, Al.ive Body Duo packs, The Commonfolk Collective candles and some really fun pool and beach accessories!
We are doing a secret Santa for the family this year as we are hosting several family members (Can't wait!! well overdue after COVID) and we have agreed to do the Stealing Secret Santa where you can steal the present off another family member if you like theirs better. ]]>During Covid many of our suppliers were hit hard and the supply chain was also smashed, and is still trying to recover. That lead us to having to develop new relationships with different brands and finding products that, yes may be on pre-order, but are only a 6- 12 week wait at most! This in itself was an interesting and long process. However, we are happy to share that our Cranmore Home & Co collection compliments the other brands we offer and I must admit has a slight bias towards our coastal hamptons style living room furniture and Farmhouse style furniture.
We have most of these items on pre-order too as they sell out prior to shipments arriving. Here are a few examples of our best sellers!
This gorgeous Entertainment Unit Rattan 4 or 6 door piece is very sort after. Always on pre-order and currently due in early Jan (November shipment sold out!) This is a piece that we highly recommend a pre-order for, so you secure it on the next shipment!
Finely sanded finish, this high grade sustainable 100% natural American Oak entertainment unit is solid and unique in structure with curved ends.
It has been sanded so smooth and fine and maintains a "raw" look thanks to the Osmo PolyX Raw Oil finish.
It has doors that open on push hinges and adjustable shelving. No handles are required as the push magnetic locks hold the doors in place. To open, simply push on the door and it pop open with ease.
Available with 4 or 6 doors.
The Hamptons 9 drawer weathered oak (also available in white) is also on our top pick list as they sell like hot cakes. These are popular as the design suits both Coastal and rustic Farmhouse styles and 9 drawers is a bonus! More storage the better I say!
Made from solid mahogany timber, this 9 draw unit is solid and unique in its structure and design.
This dresser can stand alone as a beautiful addition to any room or be completely at home when its complimented with a Hamilton bed & bedside tables also available via this collection.
This (above) is the 5 drawer option of the Hamptons drawers, also very popular.
As it is coming up to summer we have had many enquiries regarding the Ava Outdoor Sun lounger (a very similar version of this was purchased recently by the Three Birds Renovation ladies for Mick Fannings holiday home on the Gold Coast ... just saying). These are so comfortable and just stunning in any outdoor setting. I am super tempted to get one myself!
We've also just had one of our Pretzel lounges delivered to a gorgeous customer in NSW and we arranged white cushions instead of the grey they come in. She just emailed us to let us know;
"Hi Jayne, Thanks so much again for assisting with our lovely sofa ! It arrived this morning and is perfect in our home."
We love getting these emails, makes us super happy that we have found pieces that people love! These Pretzel lounges fit perfectly in our Vintage inspired collection, I just saw some on a Neftflix series based back in the 70's, so still on trend!
The Cranmore Home & Co. collection offers fresh casual coastal style and contemporary good looks. Cranmore is all about fresh ideas, unusual materials and stunning designs, we have a wide range of rattan furniture, and homewares including bedroom furniture, entertainment units and more. This collection contains some stunning rattan furniture and solid natural timber pieces which look gorgeous in any home.
All in stock items will leave our partner warehouses within 5 business days. We do also recommend pre-orders from this collection if an item is not in stock as pieces do sell out prior to shipments arriving. Our partners have pieces arriving every 6 - 8 weeks (12 if custom made) so we do highly recommend a pre-order.
We hope you enjoy our collection and please do get in touch if you ever have any questions.
Enjoy Jayne x

Top bedding trends 2022/2023
From what we saw, people still want cosiness and to make their home a private sanctuary. Most brands where sharing collections featuring warm Autumnal colour palettes and lots of texture. Don’t worry, there are pops of colour, but it’s all about getting the neutral base right.
Layering is still king – we saw cushion upon cushion upon cushion nestled on top of luxuriously soft bedspreads and quilt covers. In terms of style there was a real mix of boho coastal, contemporary, and sleek modern. Most often than not, these styles were seen working all together to create the ultimate sleep space.
With Spring on the way, there were lighter materials being used and an introduction of blues, lemons, coral, and whites across all tones. These delicious sorbet colours work really well with current colour trends such as creams, greens, browns, navy and terracotta.
NEW bedding products
We’re excited to introduce two new brands into the Cranmore Home & Co family. The first one being WEAVE. Their products are designed locally by in house designers across Australia and New Zealand with a huge emphasis on quality fabrics. This makes sense when you realise that Weave is a sub brand of Australia's leading wholesale fabric house Warwick Fabrics.
Sarah and I fell in love with the textures and touch of each of their cushion covers and their new Ravello linen bedding collection. It was hard to choose what to feature for Cranmore Home & Co as everything is stunning.
Made from luxurious 100% French Flax linen, their bed sets offer a superior softness from being prewashed and aero finished. The Ravello bedding range is the perfect addition in building a calm environment and inspiring complete respite in the bedroom without losing relaxed sophistication.
The second brand I’m thrilled to say we are stocking now is Walter G. We met with the beautiful duo Lauren & Genevieve who I have been following for years now. Taking inspiration from old textiles and new surroundings, they work closely with a wonderful team of artisans in Rajasthan to collaboratively produce a tactile range of hand block and mud printed fabrics.
Each cushion cover is hand printed using ancient block printing techniques. Handed down from generation to generation the process starts with a unique design being carved ever so precisely into the block and then pressed into fabric by hand over and over to create the perfect repetition.
Completely different to the styles you will find within the Weave collection, Walter G provides a vintage inspired pop of colour and texture to your bedroom or living space.
For those of you that love something a little more whimsical, we have now restocked the gorgeous sustainable bedding sets from Amanda and Tracey at Lazybones. I love seeing them at Life in Style each year to brighten up my day. Lazybones create pieces from sustainable fabrics and fibres that have a little nostalgia and ladylike feel to them.
Check out what’s in style for bedding this season from Cranmore Home & Co.

Our new range of 100% Cotton Woven Dash & Albert Floor Rugs are perfect for adding that cosy touch to your home this winter. Whether you prefer a neutral base like the Herringbone in Dove Grey or something more statement like the Blue Heron Stripe, there’s something for everyone in their range.
Dash & Albert Cotton Rugs are perfect for bedrooms, playrooms, living rooms, entrances and much more. These stylish and highly versatile handmade rugs are extremely durable and are a perfect complement to any room.
If you’re looking for more of a boho, vintage vibe then you must check out the floor rugs and throws from Isla in Bloom. These versatile rugs are made from 100% recycled cotton and can be used in a variety of ways; as a floor rug, beach rug, throw for the couch, wall tapestry or as an extra layer in bed during winter. Their vibrant colours and vintage floral prints are sure to brighten your home and create a talking point with guests.
For the ultimate vintage glamour, the round 100% art silk romance mystic rug by The Rug Collection is a must. It comes in 3 different sizes and provides the perfect amount of sophistication and elegance to any room. The dust muted pink, blue, sage green and cream colours on a dark background are reminiscent of the 19th Century Dutch School style.
My style at home leans more towards Coastal and Contemporary and one of my favourite additions to my large open plan living room is the Husky floor rug by Tribe Home. It is a heavily textured piece and looks almost like a boucle finish making it a great piece to bring in this season’s trends without having to invest in a large piece of furniture. The colour is called ivory and while for some a light-coloured rug may not be practical, I find it creates such a calming atmosphere to the room and allows me to use soft furnishings and other homewares to introduce colour to the space. I also love the attention to detail and premium quality of Tribe Home products.
Adding floor rugs is a simple yet timeless warming solution for winter with the bonus of making your space more inviting. Don’t forget to think about creating new cosy spaces with strategically placed rugs. After all, we spend more time indoors during these colder months, so you’ll want to create different zones within your house to curl up with a book, scroll through your phone or chat with a friend over a warm cup of tea.
Make sure to also think about the areas in your home where you tend to be barefoot that will need extra warmth and cushioning like the bathroom, in doorways, the kitchen, next to your bed, in the laundry and even an outdoor area that is undercover.
The Moroccan Trellis runner rug by OHH is a favourite for running alongside the kitchen island bench. It’s wide enough to provide that extra bit of warmth underfoot but doesn’t take up a lot of the kitchen floor space. The material is 100% New Zealand wool which is super durable and comfortable to walk on. If there’s no space in our kitchen then its dimensions are perfect for a hallway.
Want a doormat but still want something stylish and in line with your personal aesthetic? The Jasi Jute doormat by Maine & Crawford is ideal if you’re going for a coastal look. It’s 100% jute making it extremely durable whether you choose to use it inside and out. For something more fun and whimsical check out the pastel rainbow thick woven coir door mat with vinyl backing. It will put a smile on your face as you walk through the door!
Prepare your home for winter with Cranmore Home & Co.'s flooring ideas.
]]>In this week’s blog post I share my recommendations for styling your home using cushions from how to make them look good, to how best to coordinate colours and patterns.
Cushions are one of the simplest ways to transform a room and inject it with a sense of personality and style because they come in different sizes, shapes, prints and colours.
When choosing cushions for a living room I usually start by looking at the colour palette of the room. What artwork do you have, and what colour are the walls, light fittings, and furniture coverings?
If you’re going for a neutral colour to create a coastal vibe then typically your base colours will lean towards more natural tones. If the couch or sofa is white like our Crafted 3-seater sofas then you can have fun with the cushions you choose and add different textures, patterns, and warmer colour tones to bring to life the beachy theme.
For example, I’ve used the Ava Sofa in a customised fabric called Feather Grey and paired it with two Forest Song Sea Moss cushions from Pony Rider. I love to mix patterns making these reversible covers ideal. To add warmth and texture I’ve thrown in the Alby cushion in Eucalypt by L & M Home and the long Modern siesta sack cushion for juxtaposition. This results in a cool, serene coastal look. To complete this living room, I would choose the new Aland Stripe rug by Dash & Albert for cool coastal vibes.
Now compare the same Ava Sofa paired with Pony Rider’s Highlander Nutmeg and Lil Ancestors Way cushion covers as well as their long rectangular striped Little Safari cushion covers in golden tan, for a warmer vintage-inspired look. I would also add the Willow throw to top off this style.
Don’t forget to think about scale. If you have a large couch, then you need to make sure your cushions don’t get lost. Personally, I believe the larger cushions are better and have been known to add a European pillowcase-sized cushion in the mix. But remember, wherever you decide to put your cushions, make sure they are still functional and comfortable and that you can still sit down!!
When choosing how to coordinate your cushions I recommend looking for complementary colours and/or textures. If there’s embroidery in a particular colour then I might choose to highlight that colour in the second cushion. You can see this in the vintage-inspired mood board where the chocolate brown embroidery on the Lil Ancestors Way cushion is repeated in the rug and striped cushions.
Fabric choice comes into play here too. I like to pair lightweight cushion covers with heavy ones to add depth rather than having them all the same. You could try a textured boucle cover with light linen for example. Love.
Cushion arrangement is also crucial. Place the cushions, slightly tilted, on opposite ends of the couch. For an effective arrangement, use complementary colours as mentioned before, and remember to stay on theme with your living room and bedroom furniture.
My tip for making your cushions look good is to always choose good-quality inners.
While feather or down inners are super comfortable you might find yourself constantly needing to fluff your cushions back into shape.
Foam is probably the most popular and used for furniture because it is high density, making it comfortable and durable. The two most popular types are memory foam and the high-density polyurethane. Memory foam cushions are very comfortable and have so many health benefits, but they are not waterproof. High-density polyurethane is commonly used for indoor cushions and is super durable and resilient.
Hollow fibre cushion inners have an airy and springy feel making them very popular for bedding and cushions. Polyester is used most often but if you’re looking for better quality, opt for hollow fibre using cotton threads. Like feathers, hollow fibre cushions can lose their shape over time.
My choice is a down/foam blend when it comes to cushion styling as the feathers provide softness and comfort while the foam gives the cushion more firmness and structure.
Now, once you’ve chosen your inner and your cushion cover, a final recommendation for making your cushions part of your home is to make them look inviting. Use a 'karate chop' in the middle of the cushions to create a crease in them – this will make them seem more lived in and loved. This technique will also help to break up uniform shapes and unite cushions of different textures, colours, scales or families.
Our Cranmore Home & Co curated collection of designer homewares not only provides a comfortable and cosy feel to your living space but adds a final touch of class to make your house truly feel like a home. SHOP Designer Cushions in Australia here.
]]>Self-care routines do not need to be elaborate; they can be as simple as taking a deep breath when you notice you are becoming stressed. It is all about creating and maintaining a healthy relationship with yourself - you know the saying, “you must fill your own cup before you can pour into others”. Doing things to take care of our minds, bodies, and souls enhances our ability to live fully, vibrantly, and effectively.
I particularly find that in winter self-care is even more important, therefore I am putting together my thoughts and sharing my top self-care tips with you.
Firstly make time to remind yourself you are important. As a mum of two kids, my life is often taken over by school drop-offs, pick-ups, sports days, helping with homework, cooking, cleaning, and much more. It is easy to forget that my work and my needs are important too. Once you acknowledge the importance of taking time for yourself you can remove the guilt that can sometimes be associated with taking 'me time'.
As some of you know, I recently renovated my bathroom, and the most exciting part of the process was choosing a large free-standing tub. It is my favourite spot in the house and is great for stress relief. I like to set the mood by turning off the lights, lighting a candle (that smells amazing), and relaxing. Sometimes I read a book but lately just soaking in silence has been soooo good. A nice hot bath every now and then can really make your day and restore your energy levels.
I recommend trying the Sweet Dewberry & Clove candle from al.ive body. It has a unique fragrance that comes from the combination of paw paw, juniper berry and cloves with a hint of coconut and vanilla. Personally, I love the look of the candles as well – it comes in a white ceramic vessel that looks like a vase in my bathroom. Also the Al.ive Body Body Wash also makes for gorgeous bubbles. I have already used a whole refill just as bubble bath this winter!
Don’t roll your eyes... Getting good quality sleep is important as it keeps your immune system healthy and helps to keep stress levels in check. Our brains also need sleep to function, and I don’t know about you, but when I’m not getting enough rest I can’t focus and I'm irritable and less patient. Just ask my husband.
To help get good sleep I recommend investing in good quality, comfortable bedding. Bedtonic’s flax linen sheets are incredible. Not only are they ethically and sustainably grown but the linen material keeps you cosy in winter and cool in summer.
If you want to take sleep to the next level then you could consider a four-poster bed by Uniqwa to create the ultimate sanctuary of relaxation in your home.
Now, this may not be for everyone, but for me, having a clean home helps me relax and feel calm. According to the Mayo Clinic, clutter can lead to more stress and anxiety, and when people describe their spaces as "disorganised," they're more likely to have higher levels of cortisol, the hormone related to the stress response. It can result in you being more distracted, and can even affect your sleep.
Now, I will be the first to admit that I have help when cleaning my house, so don’t feel like you must do it alone. This brings me to my next tip.
Finding things to outsource has been a joy. Even if it’s an expense, the time it opens up for me to relax or catch up on a project is worth it.
While not technically outsourcing, I love using The Commonfolk Collective Home diffuser to make my home smell clean when I haven’t had time to clean it. Made with Australian fragrances and essential oils, this reed diffuser range has the cutest message on the outside that says: "home - a gathering place for family to join together in love and laughter. the one place you can always be yourself. a place of belonging."
I love to read for relaxation. Particularly when the weather is cooler outside, one of my favourite things to do is snuggle on the couch under a blanket and read a good book. If you have trouble switching off, then audiobooks or podcasts can help to calm your inner monologue as you can close your eyes and listen.
A comfortable couch or bed to listen from makes this process even better. Since my husband and I upgraded our couch, I have never been happier. If you haven’t seen or heard of a Crafted Couch out before, please check out the Ava modular sofa. Made with feather and foam you can just sink deep into the cushions for the best ‘me time’ of your life.
The simple ritual of drinking a warming cup of tea can be a great self-care practice and can put you in the right mood; particularly if you choose a wellness blend like the Peaceful Tea blend from Organic Merchant. This meditative tea tonic has been formulated to leave you feeling calm, and relaxed but also clear-headed. Featuring Tulsi (Sacred Holy Basil), Basil, Gotu Kola, Yerba Mate, and Rose Petals, this tea tastes and smells delicious.
Massage decreases stress, improves your heart rate variability, and gives you a great sense of relaxation. It’s also the ultimate self-care to treat yourself to a professional massage. If you’re local to Perth I can recommend Cove Spa. The treatments are incredible, and you’ll be left feeling refreshed and renewed.
I could go on and on with self-care tips but will stop here. I hope these tips provide you with some inspiration and benefit your mental health.

]]>Now, your patio and garden can be an oasis of relaxation, a place to wind down after a hard day at work or to spend time with family and friends, so you want to maximise that space even when the weather gets cooler.
Much like your living space or your bedroom, I recommend starting with layers to add warmth. Think cushions, floor rugs, throws and soft lighting.
You’ll also want to consider an area to sit and relax including an outdoor sofa or if the space is on the smaller side perhaps two outdoor occasional chairs and an area to eat or entertain friends which means adding an outdoor dining table and chairs or smaller side tables.
A word of warning before you start though, make sure you choose the materials of your outdoor furniture and soft furnishings wisely. You’ll need to make sure that they are suitable for outdoor use.
Generally, there are two types of outdoor materials in interiors – full outdoor use or outdoor undercover use and they are quite different. When something says use outdoors undercover it means that the furniture should be placed somewhere away from any kind of exposure to rain, sun, full sun and other potential weather events like hail, frost, and snow. This goes for not only the fabric you choose but also the structural elements.
With all the rain we have been experiencing across the country this year, I would recommend investing in full outdoor use materials if you have no undercover area. You can’t stop mould – it’s going to happen – and if you love rattan and delicate pendant lights then make sure they don’t get wet.
The frame of our roped weave outdoor sofa for example, is made using premium A grade teak timber and is wrapped in a marine grade outdoor rope making it perfectly suited for full outdoor use. In comparison the The Camps Bay Outdoor Sofa from Uniqwa has a beautiful teakwood frame with a reclaimed, aged finish that would suit an outdoor undercover area.
Tip 1. Decide Your Layout
Think about how you want to use your outdoor space and how frequently as this will help guide the overall design direction before you finalise your furniture purchase.
Tip 2. Consider Scale
When choosing an outdoor furniture setting make sure it isn't so big or small that it looks out of proportion.
The round Suzie Dining Table is perfect for a small outdoor space if you’re looking to entertain and would work well paired with the minimal Leah dining chairs by Satara. If you have a large space, then you can go for a statement piece like the Zulu daybed by Uniqwa and the Pavilion coffee table to create an intimate lounge area for long cups of tea and chats.
Tip 3. Extend The Inside Outside
Your outdoor space should feel like an extension of your home so try and incorporate the same styling themes from the inside out. An easy way to do this is to incorporate the same colour palette, materials, and textures.
Texture is a huge trend this winter with boucle, linen and velvet featuring frequently in interiors. Just remember if you’re going to choose one of these fabrics for your outdoor furniture then make sure they’re undercover.
Tip 4. Accessorise
This is where the layers come in. I love using outdoor rugs, plants, scatter cushions and table accessories to dress outdoor spaces. Funnily enough outdoor spaces are often forgotten when it comes to styling and can look empty and unfinished. I recommend looking for soft blankets to throw over seating, add a pop of colour and warmth in the evening. My current favourite is the boho style Willow throw by Isla and Bloom. If you’re after something more traditional in style then the Alby blanket by L & M Home would suit.
Tip 5. Add Statement Lighting
An easy way to immediately make your outdoor space cosy for winter is to add a statement pendant light over your outdoor table like the Lolesa by Uniqwa or the Mudag by Oriel Lighting. Or add a series of wall lamps such as the Chelsea by Oriel Lighting to create a modern, sophisticated mood.
Lastly… my overall favourite trend for outdoors this winter is adding a firepit. There’s nothing more wintery than sitting around a fire together and toasting marshmallows or sharing a wine with your hubby in the evening.
To plan your dream winter patio shop outdoor furniture here.
Hot Tip: If you’re looking for outdoor furniture and you don’t see what you like, we can access many other brands and the full Uniqwa collection on your behalf. Feel free to get in touch today.

I am personally obsessed with the trend of oversized pendant lights being used as feature lights. They are no longer just reserved for dining rooms or foyers - there can be a space for them in a variety of different settings. And when you have the right lighting installed in your home, it can transform the environment altogether. Changing your light fixtures is also a great way to refresh/revamp a room without breaking the bank.
Organic, rattan, wooden beads, wood materials, and natural textures are a lighting trend that can give a room a coastal or boho-chic look. The handwoven round wicker pendant by HK Living would have to be an all-time favourite for introducing a natural, coastal vibe to your home. Adding a touch of tranquillity with organic finishes, like this pendant, can help you feel relaxed and calm. Lately, I’ve worked with several interior stylists who use this product and I have only one left in my showroom. Another large pendant light made from natural fibres would have to be the Dala by Maine & Crawford. Made from durable, natural seagrass, it can be used as a pendant light or fixed to a base to become a floor lamp.
Equally, choosing more structured, architectural lighting designs can provide a modern, chic and contemporary glamour if that is your preferred style. I love seeing a well-constructed chandelier hung over a dining table or kitchen island bench. The Chelsea and Georgetown pendant lights, by Oriel Lighting, spring to mind if you’re doing a kitchen renovation and want something minimal and sophisticated in design.
Long lines and simplified silhouettes in feature lighting are replacing more intricate and complicated designs. While there will always be a place for ornate and bolder home lighting options, a more simplified look is coming through in this year’s trends.
2022 is also about layered home lighting and we will see a resurgence of incorporating multiple light fixtures into rooms. Overhead lights can be added to accent lamps, directional art lighting, and dimmers to provide depth, warmth, and variety. Lower lighting is going to be big for the living room this year, with amply floor and table lamps creating a feeling of comfort and cosiness.
Introducing table lamps into your home décor can help create layers. The rich, dark Manly Wooden Emac Lawton table lamp adds a bit of old school vintage Hollywood glamour to any room. I recommend matching the lamp with a linen drum lamp shade. I also love the Casablanca Palm Tree lamp base. It would look incredible to pair this with a natural linen lampshade or something with a pop of colour for an unexpected twist.
Speaking of unexpected, you’re going to see combinations of different textures and styles this year – think mixing interior styles or old-world design elements being used in a modern way or with modern finishes.
The Cara glass pendant light by Oriel lighting, for example, takes a classic retro style pendant and gives it a modern twist by adding coloured glass with a bubble-like texture. I love the amber coloured glass that turns to a metallic-like gold colour once illuminated. The Primitive pendant light by Uniqwa, on the other hand, combines a modern sleek linear design with organic sanded teak branches to provide an alternative option of mixing and matching styles.
Now, when the time comes for you to choose feature lighting, these are a few things I would recommend you consider:
At Cranmore Home, when I’m sourcing lighting options and home décor, I always choose pieces that are aligned with global and local Australian design trends but also have a point of difference – a certain je ne sais quoi.

]]>A perfect home starts by establishing a combination of decorating styles, accessories and homewares that reflect your personality and what is popular in terms of global interior style. If done well, it not only provides aesthetic appeal but can improve our mood and emotional wellbeing. It’s all about creating a space that feels inviting, relaxing and calm to YOU.
You might be thinking… “Where do I start? What are the different types of interior styles? How do I choose the one that works for me? I want to switch up my style, but I can’t decide which direction to go in.”
Interior style and design trends evolve over time much like fashion trends. However, while fashion can be quite transient, interior design styles tend to be more timeless with core styles that transcend time. These core styles are updated and renamed but can fit into the following main categories:
You’ll see that the designer furniture and collections at Cranmore Home & Co fit into these core design styles. Coastal fits into Nautical and Beach style, Farmhouse is a combination of Traditional and Mediterranean, Vintage Inspired covers Eclectic and Contemporary covers Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Industrial and Minimalist.
Coastal design is defined by seaside elements and colours. It is all about bringing everything great about the beach into your home. Whether that is the natural textiles of timber, rattan and greenery or the calming coastal colours like whites and neutrals. Traditionally nautical incorporates references to sailing and can emulate the interior of a working, sailing ship. Hamptons is often categorised into Coastal interior style and embraces white as the key colour and usually a pop of blue or other accent colour.
Farmhouse styling prioritises practicality, simplicity, and rustic charm. It is all about making a home feel inviting, reflecting the aesthetics of rural architecture. Think striped linen bedding matched with metal wall lights and a lovely big soft rug underfoot. Farmhouse style tends to also embrace modern comforts, creating a look that feels both cosy and stylish.
Vintage inspired styling is just that, blending old and new, creating plenty of character and a unique aesthetic. You can create a vintage interior with new products if they have been inspired with designs and textiles from the good old days.
Contemporary interior design style is defined by simplicity, subtle sophistication, deliberate use of texture, and clean lines. It is a way of living with a timeless approach. Clean lines, minimal styling and modern colour palettes are all elements of a good contemporary style
When planning an interior styling project, start by putting together a mood board to understand which style you prefer. I’ve created a mood board of each design style for you to use as a guide (as pictured above).
During this process I recommend researching 2022 design trends and other style guides online to get a broad view of what’s happening within the industry. Here’s my curated list below:
Sustainability will be a major focus from organic fabrics to natural light and airflow through open-plan spaces. Be sure to look out for soft furnishings and other pieces that are created using eco-friendly materials.
Oversized table lamps or introducing multiple large lamps across the rooms of your home is another trend. Outdoor pendant lights are particularly popular when styled with rugs and timber furniture to make your courtyard, balcony or pergola feel like an internal living room. You’ll see large glass pendants as part of this trend which also provide a nod to more sustainable and natural materials being used.
Consider handmade pieces with a vintage/boho feel including tapestries for your wall, handcrafted vases and embroidered cushion covers. Textiles with contrasting and complementary textures will be big.
Rough and rustic, organic shapes will be everywhere including tables, sofas, armchairs, coffee tables and ottomans, headboards and dining chairs. You’ll even see rugs in round, oval and kidney shapes.
Darker, richer, walnut tones will take over from the lighter blonde woods that have featured in design trends for a few years now. These darker pieces work beautifully with the layered, moody interior vibes being seen across the globe signaling a move towards pre-loved, timeless, antique-style furniture.
Colour is a big part of what makes up an interior design project and for 2022, the pantone colour of the year is a warm blue called Very Peri. It is said to blend the faithfulness and constancy of blue with the energy and excitement of red to introduce an empowering mix of newness.
Natural tones like rich muddy gumnut green will bring instant calm and a sense of serenity to your space and will be mixed with muted, organic tones such as raspberry, ochre, terracotta and olive green.
Dulux has introduced three palettes for 2022: Wonder is a selection of lilac, blue, rose and lemon pastels; Restore has comforting charcoal-purple, buttermilk, forest green and moss colours; and Flourish has cosy and reassuring colours like muted earth-based greens.

]]>Autumn after all is said to be a time of self-reflection, awareness, mindfulness, and change.
I have my favourite weekend bag from Saarde and matching toiletry bag, so I need to go somewhere. These bags are the best size for a weekend away! Any good ideas on where to go for weekends away?
But if I don’t get away, I might have to do a mini restyle for Autumn. I don’t think Hubby will notice too much if I give the bedroom or the bathroom a little injection of fresh autumn décor, fresh energy – some colourful homewares maybe or new rug? You know what, I might just do both!
With temperatures about to drop it does mean its time to pack up the light fabrics and colourful bedlinen from Summer and introduce a more autumnal vibe to your home. I love to bring out my softer furnishings and create a cosy and snug space to head into the autumn/winter months.
The colour trends for Autumn are natural and warm and a LOT of green. It’s all about setting a neutral base and adding pops of colour and texture.
These are my top tips on clever ways to incorporate new seasonal trends when it comes to home interiors and décor styling:
Check out my moodboard above, with some of the items I’ve mentioned already. Happy autumn mini restyling folks.
Enjoy,

This may all seem frustrating, but it is impacting everyone. COVID, flooding, freight rail damage, ports being over booked, containers being pushed back for docking by the Ports and more. So what can we do to mitigate this? Not much really, except try to plan early and look for Australian made items, but these items are also experiencing delays and prices are increasing due to the crazy domino effect!
My advice, plan early and be patient. Furniture is an emotional purchase anyway and really requires research and time. Most items are on pre-order, but this means you should definitely place a pre-order so that you don't miss out on the stock coming in the next shipment, otherwise you will need to wait until the next shipment months later, especially if the item you are after is super popular and sells out prior to the shipment arriving! If you are building a new home, select and purchase your furniture early. Even if you need to store it somewhere, this will lead to less disappointment on move in day.
Another solution, find places that have items in stock now! Some suppliers have been lucky enough to have stock come in and they have ordered more than normal to try and mitigate the lead time issues. A little tricky to find, but always achievable. Get in touch with us regarding our FREE Furniture finder service as we understand the stock levels for all of our suppliers, even those not on our site so we can provide estimated lead times or find options that are in stock, they may not be exactly what you are looking for, but an alternative that is in stock now.
Buying furniture is an emotional purchase, as furniture can be an investment for pieces that last a lifetime!
Deciding on a budget is the first step, before looking for your furniture, and is super important as this will guide your choices. It will dictate how many pieces to purchase and help prioritise the pieces you need most. I would also highly recommend quality over quantity. You want to buy pieces that will last a long time. Also don't forget to add in a little extra for freight and delivery fees. When looking at your budget you may as well also look at the timeframes that you need your pieces. Most places have availabilities readily available or have a pre-order option, so knowing when you need everything by (or at least prioritised) allows you to manage delivery timings at the time of purchase.
Take time to measure your spaces to ensure your furniture will fit. Think about the positioning and walkways, and how you will move around the room. Measure doorways and stairways to make sure pieces will fit when delivered. Also check heights on tables and seat heights for chairs, this may sound normal practise, but if you are buying individual pieces table heights and chair heights do differ, as do bench heights and stools! Rugs is another piece that you need to ensure you get the size right. Do you want all your furniture to fit on the rug, just off the rug? Also pendant lights. If going over a table, do a cut out of the diameter of the pendant options and make sure it will be suffice for your lighting over the table.
Start a Pinterest board. Go through home interiors and start pinning what rooms you like, soon enough a style and colours will start to be apparent. Think about practicality and what and who will be using the pieces of furniture. This will help guide with colours and materials too! If you are really wanting your space to last a lifetime I would highly recommend using an interior designer or stylist to help pull your space together. Pinterest is great as it will become your own little inspiration app and you can share this with your stylist so they can see your preferences! Also, using a stylist means they will take the time to find the pieces for you too, and gives you back time to enjoy the idea of styling a new home.
This is important. As you are unable to touch and feel furniture pieces online, it is important that you trust the website/brand you are buying from. Get in touch with them if you have questions and this will ensure any nervousness around purchasing an item should be put to rest as you speak with a customer representative - whether it is via phone, email or instant chat. Also check for reviews, this also helps to provide confidence that people have liked what they have purchased. Customer service is important, even for online. You shouldn't feel like you can't contact someone as ask as many questions as you want as this is part of furniture buying process. I know for us, we have spoken and met most of our suppliers and are confident in the products we promote and sell. We ensure that if anything goes wrong it is easy for both us and our customers to sort out and issues that may arise!
Just remember if it gets all too hard, get in touch with us as we love to help. Our Furniture Finder Service is complimentary as we have a list of suppliers we can access to try and help find your perfect pieces for your home.
We can then help manage the lead times, and any delays that may occur.
I hope this has helped as you start to plan for new pieces of furniture and homewares for your home.
Enjoy Jayne x

As I was saying ...I look around our suburb here in Perth lately and it is buzzing with activity! Many new houses are being built or older ones renovated, I think the pandemic has meant more of us have been staring at our old walls for too long and are starting to wondering what we can do to make our homes more of a Sanctuary! As we are tending to spend way more time at home or in the garden, it makes sense that we want to enjoy the spaces!
But, if you are like me, and I am even in the industry, you need time and a surge of energy to look for any furniture or homewares when making changes. It can be super fun going shopping for new furniture and homewares, but it can also be daunting if you aren't 100% sure where to look or what you are actually looking for!
Looking for that particular bedhead, pendant, sofa, desk or duvet cover can start out fun, but then become tiresome quickly or overwhelming. Sometimes you just can't find it or you are so busy it keeps being bumped off your To Do list or everything you find is way out of your budget? I bet this is resonating with a few of you!
Well, this exact pain point is what lead to us developing our complimentary Furniture Finder Service. We love to shop (I can sometimes get distracted when looking for our customers as I find new items and start thinking about how lovely they would look in my home!) and, we have a large selection of brands and partners that we work with every day which means we can find so many amazing pieces quickly and have all the information about the products at our finger tips! So by just knowing a few things about what you are looking for we can bundle a few options together pretty quickly.
What you are looking for may not even be on our website, but that won't stop us, as our network of brands extends beyond the products we offer on our online store.
So if you are keen try our service, just click here and it will take you to our Furniture Finder Page which has a quick form for you to complete that asks a few questions to ensure we find your perfect piece a little quicker.
No obligation to purchase either! We just like to assist where we can. No request is too big or too small, so please do get in touch.
Keep the fun alive when styling your home, it is meant to be enjoyable turning your house into a home!
Here are a few mood boards below for a little inspiration and to get you excited again about finding your perfect piece.
Enjoy,

Not only are &Sunday’s pool tubes practical but they are super stylish too. Taking their pattern cues from what’s hot in interior design right now, &Sunday’s designer pool tubes feature bold shapes, details, summer patterns and colours. My favourites are the Curves Pool Tube in Peach Blush and Shapes in Khaki Green. You won’t mind if they get left in the pool or on outside on the deck because they look so great.
To add to my newly created Beach & Pool Collection, I’ve just received the most beautiful floral summer patterned beach towels from Isla in Bloom. They are an Australian sustainable summer accessories brand created with beautiful, bold floral and boho-inspired prints. Made from 100% cotton the Lucia Beach Towels feature a delicate embossed vintage flower design and a Turkish-towel style finish on the other side. They are extra-large too and come in delicious colours; lilac, marigold, peach, olive and a beautiful soft blue called mist. Perfect in the bathroom too if you love bath sheet size towels and gorgeous colours!
If you don’t have a swimming pool, you can still have fun cooling off and splashing about in our funky summer patterned inflatable pools by Pool Buoy. They call themselves the ‘inflatable pool that went to design school’ and they are not wrong – each paddling pool features a modern pattern designed to show off your personal style.
For Cranmore Home & Co, I have chosen Kinky Splash, Wavy Bjorne, Peachy Pat, Luigi Lovegood and Call Me Jackie. Such fun names!! Designed in Melbourne, these inflatable pools are non-toxic and super durable making them great for kids and big kids alike.
If you like more of a beachy, bohemian style summer pattern when you head to the beach or while lazing by your pool, the Fleur and Willow Beach Rugs by Isla in Bloom are for you. Pair them with the fringed beach umbrella in Tallow by Sunday Supply Co and you have the perfect flower-power, boho-style set up.
Sunday Supply Co have also sent me some gorgeous extra-large, fast drying summer pattern Beach Blankets with the most gorgeous tassel hem detail. I recommend the sophisticated Black Rock or Pacific blue to create a neutral so you can go a little crazier with the choice of summer pattern for your beach umbrella, pool tube and towel.
See you on the beach soon x

]]>This month, I’ve chosen to look at my kids’ bedrooms again, and get the little ones ready for back to school and the year ahead. I must admit, my two are not so little anymore, in fact they are officially teenagers now (eek!) so my focus this year is going to be not only creating a space for them to relax in, but more importantly, a functional space for homework too. I must also admit that this is me dreaming of what I would like to do in the kids room, as they won’t let me in to change it again just yet. So if I could, this is what I would do!
The focal point for each room is going to be a new desk from Pop Up Desks. I’ve asked them to choose a colour (if I was to actually do this) and I've worked the accessories and styling around them.
My Sons Room
For Harry's room he chose the Essential Classic Pop Up desk in natural which has given me a little more free range to pick colours. I decided to take my lead from the My World Design cushion in olive by Pony Rider. Olive green is one of my favourite colours and fits with this year’s trend of earthy, natural colours.
The cushion design also features navy and red stitching which works well with Harry’s blue Mustard Made lockers that he put in his room last year. It was such a good choice to put a locker in his room as he uses it for his school bag, homework and footy gear keeping his floor relatively clear most of the time.
The royal blue colour pops against our white walls and light grey carpet so I’m going to keep the rest of the other colours fairly neutral, so they work tonally together.
For the wall I’m going to put up the Olivia wall clock by One Six Eight London. I love the simplicity of the design and the silent clock movement won’t distract Harry when he’s working or trying to get to sleep. He doesn’t need anymore distractions!
His desk needs a light on it, but I also wanted it to double as a night light. Despite just turning 13 he still likes to have something on at night. I’ve picked the Luna Pop Bear light. It’s the perfect colour to tie in with everything else plus it’s super cute but still edgy enough for him.
Both children have asked to have more plants in their room (this is actually going to happen) – they are so on trend! For Harry I’ve picked the corduroy planter pot in mint by Maine & Crawford. These lined planters are so cool and give his room a sophisticated and fun edge. Now I just need to decide on what plant to put in there that he won’t kill.
For his bed I chose another Pony Rider cushion – I love their designs. This one is so cute as it says ‘You’re some kind of wonderful’ on the front. Just a little reminder that Harry will always be my special little man.
Now for my daughters room.
Bella turns 15 in May and I can’t quite believe it. My little girl is growing up way too quickly. I want to make sure her room feels grown up enough for her while still maintaining a feel of fun and whimsy.
For the focus of her room, she chose the Essential Classic Pop Up desk in sage. Bella has added the Riser to her desk for her computer monitor and extra space underneath for when she’s doing her homework.
Because she went with the sage colour I wanted to choose and a piece of art that featured similar colours and would tie everything together. I chose the Caravan 3 print by Blackhaus Studios as its suits her to a tee, she keeps telling me she want a Combie one day to travel to the beach each day in (sounds like me at 15, I just wanted to have flowers painted all over it!).
The colours are so dreamy and makes me want to venture off around the world in a caravan. Even though my daughter is too young right now… I like to think that this picture will encourage her to dream and instil in her a love of travel.
The colour of the desk and print also work beautifully with the double ‘twinny’ she already has in her room. Bella went for the larger sized Mustard Made locker and uses hers for shoes and accessories.
The Jackson Wall Clock I picked out is very sleek, bold and minimal in black and white. It is by One Six Eight and I selected the 60cm one to make a statement. Bella has a large room, so larger pieces work well.
Similar to Harry, I have chosen a corduroy planter pot for the indoor plants but this time I went with the rose colour. I also picked out a ceramic koala planter, also from Maine & Crawford, to provide a little fun and innocence to Bella’s room - she is still my little girl after all.
Finally, to really make Bella’s room feel like a special place to hang out I would install the Otis Hanging Chair by McMullin & Co. It’s very glamourous and comfy so I’m hoping it would encourage her to snuggle up in there and read a good book instead of looking at Instagram. Ha a mum can dream! I would just need to check there is a beam in the roof that we could attach it too!
If you’re thinking of giving your children’s rooms a makeover then head over to the Little Ones Collection on the website where I’ve put together all my favourite pieces for styling kids’ bedrooms. My poor kids I would be changing their rooms each quarter if I could! I love styling kids rooms!

]]>And with the summer heat and the holiday season upon us, there is a definite want to create this feeling in our own homes, particularly when we’re too nervous to travel.
In fact, I was reading Vogue Interiors where an article was discussing that as we enter our third year of the global pandemic, interior design trends will be focused on how they make us feel emotionally at ease. Because we have been spending so much time at home there is a desire to create spaces that help us to slow down and create calm. Think soft, less obvious colour palettes and layered aesthetics.
Our stunning Uniqwa pieces fall into this trend of organic, calming, nature-inspired surfaces. Uniqwa’s ethos is to supply pieces inspired by nature. Their pieces are organic, earthy, and naturally modern - perfect for creating your own coastal style retreat. Each piece has been made from reclaimed timbers or plantation timbers to not only create a unique naturally weathered appearance but also provide a sustainably responsible option for interior furniture.
Their four poster beds in French oak are reminiscent of the traditional Hamptons style that is earmarked as being a big trend in 2022.
Combined with Pony Rider’s creamy, blush designer cushions create a more contemporary version of the traditional blue and white colour palette of coastal living that we’ve become accustomed too.
One of my favourite pieces in the Coastal Collection would have to be the Leafy Scroll Wall Chart by Indigo Love Collectors. It features a soft colour palette of chocolate browns, dark green mixed with creamy beiges and grey. I can see it hung either outside in a reading nook or inside to add a piece of interest to your bathroom.
Indoor-outdoor living is going to continue to be big in 2022 as we spend more time in our homes and set them up for at-home entertaining. Outdoor kitchens, built-in bbqs and pizza ovens are at the top of the outdoor living trends this year.
If you’re looking for a stylish and comfortable outdoor sofa then my pick would be Uniqwa’s three seat camps bay design. Made of solid teakwood in a reclaimed, aged finish it is perfect for outdoor areas. The white, UV protected, and water-resistant cushions provide a neutral base to add a pop of colour with something like our Lil Safari Stripe Rusty Desert cushions from Pony Rider. Complete the outdoor setting with Uniqwa’s Crabo coffee table and any of the stunning pendant lights from Oriel Lighting. If I was choosing for you, it would be the Mette by Oriel or the Lili Tall by Uniqwa.
If you’re wondering about what colours to choose this year for interiors, everything is pointing to earthy tones found in nature. We’re also going to see an increase in natural, raw, porous surfaces such as terracotta, marble, stoneware and travertine.
To reflect this, I’ve curated some of my favourite coastal style pieces into the Coastal Collection on my website. You’ll find lush creamy, beige, browns, burnt orange and blush soft furnishings and accessories mixed with larger crisp white, grey and black statement furniture pieces.
In this collection you’ll find my favourite hanging chairs that have been so popular throughout the year as we continue to create our own personal retreat spaces. The white Makeba hanging chair is stunning and would look elegant hanging by the pool.
Our white painted timber log side table could work well alongside the hanging chair to to rest your afternoon cocktail on or place your book on when you’re ready for a cheeky nap. If you want a stool or side table in a more natural colour, then it also comes in natural timber or there is the vintage natural side table that would work well too.
Lastly, I’ve had a lot of fun sourcing bathroom accessories for this collection, including a fun range from OHH in earthy colours. The Nomad Runner and the Rainbow Bath Mat are my favourites to inject a little personality into an otherwise neutral, clean space.
Now if coastal isn’t really your style there are still some quality pieces within this collection from Sunday Supply Co that are perfect for taking to the real coast such as their signature Beach Umbrella in various patterns and their fast-drying oversized beach blankets. I can personally vouch for how great they are I have both an umbrella and beach blanket and spent hours on the beach over the Christmas Break.
I hope you enjoy perusing this curated coastal collection, I know I had fun putting it together!
]]>After chatting a few times with Co Founders Paul and Rahul we decided we were a great fit together, and now you are able to place custom made orders through us! Yippee!
Ava Slip Cover sofa with chaise.
Crafted have been custom making gorgeous sofas and beds since 2015. They have showrooms in Sydney and have a very personalised service which we hope to provide also!
Their textiles and upholstery materials are varied and eclectic in range, from classic European linens to new qualities that highlight the latest in fabric development - simply put, Crafted believe in offering clients a true customisation experience where they don't place limits on their vision.
Crafted's passion is for quality craftsmanship and the desire to support local makers, producers and suppliers, hence the production of their pieces is done in Sydney, Australia.
We have had many customers super keen on the Crafted items 1. because they are Australian made and 2. because you can choose which fabric you want and custom sizes too if you like!
The Ava Sofa has been super popular, with its coastal relaxed design! Each piece is also a slip cover, so you can wash it to keep it looking gorgeous, and the scatter cushions add a relaxed comfortable "sit on me now" vibe! You can configure this sofa to many different configurations including a corner modular or chaise section. Trust me, you will find it hard to get up and start your day if you sink in with a coffee in the morning! My husband would also probably fall asleep the minute he sat down, so the perfect second bed, who needs a guest room! Ha!
If you like more of a square modular design then the Aria slip cover modular sofa is worth a look at. The full standard setting of the Aria modular lounge contains six pieces, including three ottomans, two armless chairs and a corner piece that can all be connected with an interlocking mechanism. You can however choose whichever piece/s you desire. Go big or go small, either way you can still get this gorgeous design in your home!
The Skye bed is also a favourite, with its unique look and relaxed slip cover design. The great thing about slip covers it that it means not only can you take them off and clean them, but you can change up your style whilst keeping your original frame! Allowing you to change your style when you want. This bed is available in several sizes and is also customisable with any fabric.
If you are looking for a more contemporary design the Edward or Lucas Beds provide a minimalist look with a feature headboard. Again you can choose the fabric you want on these beds too! And you can get just the bedhead if you prefer! These beds are made from a solid wood frame with fixed foam interior and slats for your mattress.
If it is just an armchair you are looking for then the Henry or Ava Occasional chair might suite! The Henry is a little bigger than your normal arm chair and the Ava, well you will finish your book in a day as you won't want to get out of it!
You do have to wait 8-10 weeks for a Crafted sofa or bed to be produced when you place an order, but it does mean you will get quality Australian hand made furniture that will last the test of time! It also means you know when you will get it, no delays as it is made here in Australia! Win, win I say!
The crafted brand is one that I truly believe fits the Cranmore Home & Co. offering for our clients. Both the relaxed coastal designs and their more contemporary pieces are just what our customers love. The ability to offer custom made pieces where you can choose the fabric and size you want, means we can make that perfect piece just for you. Custom made can make items a little more expensive, but the quality and knowing they are Australian designer homewares made makes it worth every penny!
So if you are looking for a new sofa or bed, please do get in contact as we can chat through all the possible designs, sizes, fabrics, colours, best coffee to drink on them, or wine if you prefer!! Check out our full Crafted collection here.
