Introducing The Design Duo Behind Al.ive Body ... You Might Already Know Them!

Welcome to number five of our Collaborator Series and this one is super fun as you get two answers for the price of one as the design duo Alisa and Lysandra Fraser share their fun facts with us.

Well known for their time on The Block and now as leading interior designers they can add another string to their bow, product developers!  They launched the body product range al.ive body earlier this year and it has gone gang busters! For us and for them! You can read all about it in our other Brand Spotlight blog HERE, and below you will see that we have had some fun and asked them our usual questions! Always great to get to know our partners a little better.

What is your favourite fragrance (or product) and why– no pressure 😊?

I must admit this one makes me laugh as I actually meant their fragrances within their products, but they gave me their favourite perfume! Love it! Or is this just a super clever way of not having a favourite of their own product! Or maybe I should ensure my question is a bit more specific.

Alisa – Chanel (chance)

What is your creative process to come up with a new product?

Both - First we think about what is missing in the market or how could we improve on that particular product. Once we have established the need for it, the fun part begins and generally we’ll start with the shape/form of that product. We then move onto the deciding a base colour and everything else just seems to fall naturally in place. While the packaging in happening we’ll work closely with our formulator to come up with a texture/scent we are happy with. 

   

What are some of your other favourite furniture and homewares brands?

If you could live anywhere, describe where and your ideal home/country would be?

Lysandra – I would live right by the beach, I could honestly live anywhere from the Amalfi Coast to Byron Bay and even in good old Adelaide. I just need to be near a beautiful coastline.

Alisa- I dream to live in the Adelaide Hills with 360 views looking out into nature.

  

What is your favourite Netflix/stan/binge watch programme and why?

Lysandra – I love Making of a Murderer (I’m a true crime junkie) and also Schitt’s Creek

Alisa – I really enjoyed Tiger King

What is your favourite book and why?

Lysandra - The subtle Art of not giving a f*&k

Alisa - Ummm, soz I don’t have time to read

Favourite holiday destination and why?

Lysandra – Italy – I absolutely love the scenery and the history of that place – it’s the best!

Alisa – Anywhere in Europe – you cant beat that type of history

If you could invite anyone to dinner to have your favourite meal who would be around your table and why (you have 5 seats)?

Lysandra – Oprah, Tim Robbins, Maria Forleo, Adele (so she can sing while we eat lol)  and Julie Andrews because I love The Sound of Music

Alisa – Michael Jordan, Bill Gates

        

What is something that not many people know about you (that you are happy to share 😊)

Lysandra – I was caught up in the London bombings when I was 21 years old, I wasn’t on the tubes that were bombed but I was on a train in the tube at the exact time when everything was shut down.

Alisa – I’m a huge introvert and I’m not really comfortable it large crowds/settings.

What wise words would you give a younger version of yourself?

Lysandra – I’m not sure that I would – you have to make mistakes so you can learn and develop.

Alisa – Don’t stress, everything will workout exactly how it’s meant to.
