A little bit about Amy ..
Chief wrangler of 3 beautiful boys and the head honchette behind Oh Happy Home. Lover of textiles and texture she began designing textiles and rugs not long after her second son was born. After completing a fine arts degree she taught art and home economics for many years, but had always wanted to combine her creative side with making functional beautiful things. So combining her passion for supporting fair trade in an industry not well known for it, she worked closely with her Indian and Nepalese workers to create small batches of rugs and homewares. Currently living in Albany WA, Amy gets to combine her love of textiles and run a business around her kids
Fun Facts about Amy.
What is your favourite OHH Range (or product) and why?
Hmm, that’s a hard one as it continually changes, but I think my most favourite rug is the Pink Sahara. It's so much fun and really makes a room pop!
What is your creative process to come up with a new range?
I look at trends in Europe and then new trends in the carpet industry. I then try to add an Australian flavour. I try to do something a little bit different, personally I love colour and always start off with something bold and then keep refining and simplifying it. My ideas do not always translate into possibilities that can be woven, so its definitely a learning process for me.
What are some of your other favourite furniture and homewares brands?
Pop and Scott, Mustard Made, Koskela

If you could live anywhere, describe where and your ideal house/home/country would be?
Well currently living in the country in Albany WA which is pretty cool after always being a city dweller. It is such a beautiful place, rich with history that I am continually blown away by this place. If I didn’t live here Spain or Italy I could happily live for a time.

What is your favourite book and why?
I don’t get time to read much but always love a good Tim Winton read.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Can't go past Bali for a quick warm escape.
What is something that not many people know about you (that you are happy to share 😊)
I was married when I was 19 years old! 24 years later we are still so much in love.
