Brand Manager Extraordinaire, Introducing Lexie Feher-Langley from Pop Up Desks.

January 29 2021 – Jayne Graham

I have been watching, ok maybe stalking, Pop Up Desks on Instagram for a few weeks now, and maybe because my stalker energy flowed through the Insta channels they actually approached us recently to see if we would be keen on stocking their products and as soon as I spoke with Lexie, the super duper Brand Manager, I knew we were a great fit!

I also knew we had to introduce her to you as part of our Collaborator Series, so we thought we would get to know Lexie on a more personal level and asked her our ten fun facts!

Having worked with well-known global and Australian brands, in the small appliance, homewares industry and health and wellness space, Lexie brings to the business her extensive experience in brand management and product development and is as excited as we are to work with a newly established Australian brand.

Initially drawn to joining Pop Up Desks for its creativity and innovative designs, Lexie quickly realised the success and consistent growth of the business was a testament to the collaborative team behind the brand. Watch this space though, as I am sure Lexie is going to be integral in introducing  new products and category expansion for the business... which means more goodies for us!

As a mum of two little ones, she is always on the go but when she has time to herself, she loves her morning beach swims.

Top 10 Fun Facts About Lexie.

  1. What is your favourite product from your collection and why– no pressure 😊?

I love the ‘The Junior Range’. Whether you are styling your teens bedroom or updating your toddlers’ room, remember kids LOVE having a space to hang with friends, relax and that encourages learning and play.

Similarly, to our adult’s desks, there is seven amazing colours to choose from.

My son is 4 and he lines his Lego up and comes up with the most amazing creations – I can let him sit and play for hours.

2. What was the creative process to come up with Pop Up Desks?

Like many businesses in 2020, Displaywise a leading Australian Exhibition display company was forced to reinvent themselves during Covid-19, and as a result Pop Up Desks was born.  Our skills in Industrial Design and Australian manufacturing placed us in a strong position to quickly change direction and diversify.  Through thoughtful innovation, perseverance we were confident that the range of desks would meet the consumers change in need during a challenging time.

Like our popular range of desks, many of the new designs are easy to assemble, functional yet stylish and will be a great addition to any Australian home.

  1. What are some of your other favourite artists or creatives that inspire you?

I recently purchased this gorgeous painting from a local Sydney based artist Ozlem Savelle. Her work is gorgeous, and she is such a humble artist with an amazing talent and has such an eye for choosing colours that complement each other.

  1. If you could live anywhere, describe where and your ideal house/home/country would be?

This is the view from my stepfathers balcony in Bathurst. Need I say more.

 5. What is your favourite Netflix/stan/binge watch programme and why?

I am not usually one to jump on the band wagon, but I thought I would check out what all the fuss was about with Bridgerton and must I say I binged watched the entire series in one night…

  1. What do you love to do when you are not working?

I am a mother to two gorgeous children, a 2-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy, who I absolutely adore and get the most joy out of watching them grow. Whilst they keep me busy for most of the time, I am OBSESSED with my lawns (yes, it is crazy to think I am saying that out loud), my vegetable garden, practising vinyasa yoga, and visiting my stepfathers farm in Bathurst – a true country girl at heart.

  1. What would you say is your spirit animal, and why?

I must confess I took an online quiz to discover my spirit animal.

I am the Wolf: the power of the wolf brings forth instinct, intelligence, appetite for freedom, and awareness of the importance of social connections.  I must say, I somewhat agree!

  1. If you could invite anyone to dinner to have your favourite meal who would be around your table and why (you have 5 seats)?

Jude Law – everyone needs that bit of distraction if there is a lull in the conversation.

Donna Hay – Can she be the chef for the evening?

Jimmy Fallon – to liven the mood, maybe even for a dance battle.

Jay Shetty – a true inspiration with a wealth of knowledge

Emma Isaacs – Business Chicks Owner = power woman!

  1. What is something that not many people know about you (that you are happy to share 😊)
Growing up on a farm and then residing in Sydney for the lasts years of high school, many of my closest friends don’t know that I can ride a motorbike, learnt to drive a car at 13 (on a farm of course) and I actually sang at the Paralympics opening ceremony as part of a choir and was accepted to dance at the opening of the Sydney 2000 Olympics and I was a choir girl for many years. Let’s just say my children do not like my monotoned voice now… I can barely sing a nursery rhyme in tune.

  1. What wise words would you give a younger version of yourself?

Someone once told me that the top 5 people you surround yourself with, should be the people that inspire you the most, that share in your triumphs and help you navigate through this crazy journey that we call life! So younger self – choose your nearest and dearest wisely.

Thanks so much Lexie, was great to get to know you and we really look forward to working with Pop Up Desks.  To view our full collection click here.
