New Year, New Collections - 2020 Design Insights From Top Brands

It is that time of year when all of the interior industry showcase their 2020 design trends.

This year the interiors industry will bring a few changes in colour palettes and styles but I really believe that interiors are like art - subjective and personal to each home owner. One thing I do know though, is that sustainability and certified products will remain a priority for design lovers.  What I can promise at Cranmore Home & Co is that you are buying quality!

I have heard alot of discussion about new colour palettes of bold colours - blues and greens for this year, abstract designs both in artwork and on textiles and also a real move to homes all having a space where work can be completed without interuptions, whether that be a dedicated home office or study nook.  I also think that kitchens are continuing to become not just a place to cook, but a place to entertain and spend more time just living, hence multifacited areas within the kitchen.

As the whole life work balance really starts to be a priority in our lives most homes are becoming more of a sanctuary with little areas tucked away, that we can hide away in and chill, a bit like a cocoon.

So where do we start? I think what we might do is showcase some of our fantastic partners and their new collections for 2020.

HK Living - Greek Mythology and Sassy Stripes

So HK Living's 2020 collections includes some emerging trends but also throws back to ancient times! Greek mythology to be exact. Check out the pillar dining table below, the perfect update for your dining room in 2020, add a few different styled dining chairs and you have a new space straight away.  New to the couch range is the Jax, a couch with a sensational 'look-at-me' feel.  It has the perfect round modular elements that can be made into the shape that best fits your living room!  HK Living also had to add a splash of colour this year with some sassy stripes, as shown on the lobby lounge bench below! Always unique and eclectic, basic design to scandic industrial - HK Living really know how to design cool pieces, I love this style.

Uniqwa Furniture - Beautiful and Meaningful Design

Uniqwa Furniture continue to add to their extensive unique handmade furniture, lighting and outdoor furniture collections. They are inspired by nature and ethnic culture that fits into contemporary environments.  They also stay true to their core values of being eco-friendly, socially and sustainably responsible. Uniqwa is perfect for your coastal living styles and homes with an earthy and natural style about them.  Each piece of furniture is different due to the handmade nature of the products which provides a uniqueness like no other. We sell alot of Uniqwa pendants for kitchens and living rooms as they are gorgeous designs and made from sustainable and eco-freindly materials. Also the klop range, which is just as popular is made from remnant teak offcuts and joined together giving each piece its own unique pattern while utlisizing teak with minimal waste. The Klop stool and palm cut coffee table has been super popular.

Tribe Home Floor Rugs - Celebrating Unique Creativity

There are many particular disciplines to weaving rugs which dates back centuries. Tribe Home stays committed to uncovering and sourcing beautiful rugs and homewares with a social conscious, whilst honouring the hand crafted skills of the artisans that make the rugs from countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Iran, Pakistan and Vietnam. You can see from their collection the intricate detail and design that has been put into each one.  In 2020 their collection includes tribal like designs, or geometric haven is another way to describe thier collection. The names hint to the sentiment of the designs - Himba, Mongolia, Zulu and Kalim. Soft neutral tones mixed with a few darker greys is the colour palette of Tribe Homes 2020 collection.  They also have new staple chunkier knits in their Parko and Aero rugs, they are the perfect textured floor rug with a soft touch and bouncy finish under foot.

Mustard Made - Funky Lockers

Fall in love with lockers, is exactly what the sister duo behind Mustard Made wanted you to do! And have we ever?  These are one of the most popular products on Cranmore Home and Co.  Starting off with the shorty and skinny lockers in 6 gorgeous colours, Mustard Made have now got 4 designs and 8 fantastic colours!  These lockers are easy to assemble, perfect as side tables, office storage for the home office, in the laundry, in the bedroom, TV cabinets, you name it, one of thier lockers can do it! They are such a funky addition to any room.  The Midi and Lowdown were added in late 2019 with 2 new colours Berry and Ocean, so it will be interesting to watch if anything new is added as I secretly think they have nailed their market already! They even have the 2020 Pantone colours already in their stable of lockers - the Navy and Olive. Amazing feat too, being sisters together in business, I think the distance of Newcastle to the UK makes things a little easier on the family relationship - we love Becca and Jess!

Pony Rider - Lover of the Outdoors

Designed in Australia, the Pony Rider brand started out as a small trending cushion brand, it has now branched out to many products including bedding, throws, wall art and more.  Pony Rider loves the outdoors and have a surfy vibe which to me makes me think of sun, surf and fun, but also the wintery days rugged up in a blanket or throw in the back of a Kombi or ute.  Their products  also have that "cool" vibe and you can really make your kids bedrooms super hip using their products as they are neutral palettes yet the adventurous vibe provides some really great decor for kids of any age and adults too! They release a new collection most years but do small runs of the products which really provides a unique opportunity to have something not everyone has!  Keep your eye on this brand if you like the earthy design style as when Pony Rider bring out new collections they will be pretty special.
